Leona Maguire recorded her best round of the week but still finds herself 12 shots off leader Rio Takeda following the third round of the Blue Bay LPGA.
After starting with a 73-75 to just about make the cut, Maguire signed off for a 71 overnight to move to three-over par.
Starting at the 10th, the Cavan golfer fell to five-over after a bogey at the 11th, but she wouldn't drop another shot with birdies at the third and ninth moving her under par for the day and up to just outside the top 40 overall.

Scoring has been tricky on the course, but Japan’s Takeda shot a three-under 69 – her third of the week in China - to take control and she will enjoy a two-shot buffer over American pair Gigi Stoll and Auston Kim and Australia’s Cassie Porter.
