Leona Maguire carded a 73 in her second round of the HSBC Women's World Championship in Singapore and lies some 11 shots adrift of the lead in tied 45th position after 36 holes.

Despite there being only 20 players below her in the field, Maguire will play the weekend as this weekend's LPGA event does not feature a cut.

The Cavan golfer started with a bogey on the third but recovered with a fifth hole birdie on the Tanjong course at Sentosa Golf Club.

Maguire's luck on the second nine was a similar affair, with a bogey on the 12th recovered by a birdie on the 13th. A third bogey of the day on the 17th put Maguire on one over for the round.

Maguire failed to find a birdie in her first round yesterday but despite managing two today, three bogeys across the 18 holes means she is on four over.

A Lim Kim maintained her lead from the first round with a three-under 69 and sits on seven under for the tournament.

"Putting is not easy around here, I think," Ko said, "so trying to get myself as close to the ball, obviously, is going to increase my probability of making it. I think I did that fairly well today. So hopefully I can continue that these next couple days."

Paris Olympics gold medallist Lydia Ko moved to within a shot of the lead with a five-under 67.

Defending champion Hannah Green shot a 69 and was on even-par 144, level with Angel Yin, who won the LPGA Thailand event last week.

Meanwhile it has been announced that world number nine Charley Hull will tee it up at this year's KPMG Women's Irish Open at Carton House, which takes place from 3-6 July.
