Caelan Doris and Rónan Kelleher both trained with Ireland on Thursday morning but Tadhg Furlong was absent.

Captain Doris missed the Guinness Six Nations win over Wales with a knee injury and the number 8 took part in a rehab session at Aviva Stadium

Hooker Kelleher also missed last Saturday's 27-18 victory in Cardiff with a neck injury.

"Caelan has been running for the last week, he ran today so he's certainly in with a shout of being involved.

"I know Rónan Kelleher trained today. No one is ruled out, they are all carrying bumps and bruises but they're OK."

Prop Furlong is continuing to recover from a calf / hamstring injury and has returned to Leinster, who play Cardiff on Saturday in the URC, for rehabilitation.

The 32-year-old has not played so far in the Six Nations.

"I know Tadhg Furlong is back with his province and he'll be rejoining us next week so no one is ruled out at this point," added O'Connell.

"I don’t think he’s available for Leinster this weekend, no."

Furlong also missed the entire Autumn Nations Series and has played just once since mid-October.

Asked about the uncertainty surrounding the tighthead, O'Connell said: "I just think because there’s been a few false starts, he wants to be sure about it, and the medics want to be sure about it and not have another false start.

"I'd say if he had no history with that calf he might be back by now but they just want to make sure and he wants to feel sure and feel confident himself as well."

Ireland face France in nine days' time in what is being billed as a championship decider.

Jack Conan and Mack Hansen, who both came off during the win over Wales also trained.

"Jack Conan is looking after his back a little bit," added the former Munster lock.

"He hurt his back when he fell in a carry the other day but we'd be pretty confident he’d be OK."

Centre Garry Ringose, who was sent off in that match, was due to attend a disciplinary hearing this morning with the result expected this afternoon.
