Conor Murray, Peter O'Mahony and Cian Healy will all end their international careers after the conclusion of the Guinness Six Nations next month.

The IRFU has confirmed that all three will retire from Test rugby following the final game against Italy on Saturday 15 March.

Healy and O'Mahony are also retiring from playing with their provinces at the end of the 2024/25 season this summer, with Murray set to depart Munster for a new opportunity abroad.

The trio have won a remarkable 371 caps combined for Ireland, with Healy currently the most-capped player in Irish rugby history, making 136 appearances in green.

Murray and O'Mahony also rank high in the list of all-time appearances in green, with Murray playing 123 times, and O'Mahony winning 112 caps.

All three have won five Six Nations titles each in their illustrious careers, two of which were Grand Slams, while O'Mahony captained Ireland to the title in 2024.

Cian Healy became Ireland's most-capped played in 2024

"Since joining the Ireland coaching team back in 2014 it has been a privilege to work with Peter, Cian and Conor," interim head coach Simon Easterby said.

"They have each played a huge role in the success of Irish Rugby over the course of their careers and they continue to inspire their teammates around them. Watching how openly they engage with players in their own position and continue to add value around the set-up is testament to their collective character and they are also adding real value on the pitch.

"Knowing each of the guys, they will be focused on achieving even more success this season and we are determined as a group to end their careers with Ireland on a high over these last two rounds."

Healy will retire from professional rugby as the most decorated player in Irish history. In addition to his 136 caps and five Six Nations titles, the 37-year-old has also played a record 287 times for Leinster, winning four Investec Champions Cup titles and seven URC titles.

O'Mahony will also end his professional career this summer.

The 35-year-old, who made his Ireland debut against Italy in the 2012 Six Nations, became captain for the successful 2024 Six Nations following the retirement of Johnny Sexton.

A former Munster captain, O'Mahony (above) won two URC titles in 2011 and 2023 and has played 193 times for the province, while he also captained the British and Irish Lions in their first Test against New Zealand in 2017.

Murray will keep playing beyond this summer, but the 35-year-old will be leaving Munster at the end of the season.

The Limerick man will make his 200th Munster appearance in his next game for the province.

The scrum-half also played on three Lions tours, and filled in as skipper in the absence of Alun Wyn Jones on the 2021 tour of South Africa.
