The good form of Irish show jumpers continued in the last 24 hours with three Irish riders achieving podium finishes in the United States.
Offaly's Darragh Kenny, aboard 13-year-old gelding Eddy Blue, secured the best result as he secured a second place finish in the $500,000 Lugano five-star Grand Prix at Wellington International in Florida.
Kenny was the second last off and crossed the line with a clear run in 41.22, just behind winner Kent Farrington, who had a time of 40.24.
Daniel Coyle and Farrel had to settle for third in the four-star $200,000 Grand Prix at World Equestrian Centre in Florida.
Just five hundredths of a second separated the top three, with Brian Miggre and MTM Vivre Le Reve winning with a clear round in a time of 36.36. He was followed by fellow American Aaron Vale (USA) and Gray's Inn (36.39) with Coyle clocking a time of 36.41.
"Farrel has been great. Last year was his first year back, and he has proven himself. He's like a pony - he’s careful, brave, and easy. I’m very proud of him tonight," Coyle said.
Meanwhile at Desert International Horse Park in California, Co Down's Conor Swail guided Casturano to a runner-up finish in the three-star Grand Prix. Swail finished just over a second behind American winner Keri Potter with Kalimera Van De Nethe Z while third place went to Katherine Huffstutler (USA) and Eothymm De Kergane.
