Leona Maguire shot a four-under-par 68 to make progress up the leaderboard at the Honda LPGA Thailand but remains 13 shots adrift of leader Akie Iwai at the halfway stage.
The 30-year-old toiled for parts of her opening round on her way to a 74 that included three bogeys and a double-bogey, but the Cavan woman was much steadier on Friday, dropping just one shot across the round.

Starting at the 10th, a couple of birdies in the first four holes was a decent start before birdies at the first and second had her moving nicely.
The following hole brought the only blemish on her scorecard and a birdie at eight helped her to a 68 and a tie for 38th-place.
The $1.7m (€1.6m) tournament doesn't have a cut line, with all 72 players making it to the weekend, where the winner will take home $255,000 (€243,000).
Japan's Iwai currently leads the way on 15-under par, two shots clear of Angel Yin. Local woman Jeeno Thitikul and Moriya Jutanugarn are a further shot back on 12-under.
