Pete Wilkins says Connacht have "given themselves a chance" in the Challenge Cup after completing a Pool 1 full house with victory over Cardiff last night.
The 28-19 win was Connacht's fourth bonus-point success in Europe, after earlier victories over Zebre, Perpignan and Lyon.
It means the Westerners are guaranteed top seed and home advantage for however long they stay in the tournament up to the final in the Principality Stadium.
"It is [a massive boost]. We were really open in the camp in terms of talking about that once we got those couple of early wins, and realised the opportunity that was shaping up," Wilkins told Premier Sport.
"That home run all the way through is fantastic but you’ve still got to keep winning to ensure you can make the most of that.
"There will be a bit more jeopardy when we get into the knockout rounds but we’ve given ourselves a chance.
"To get back to Galway, the faithful Connacht fans there create some atmosphere, considering we are a work in progress with the build and fans on three sides.
"We are really proud of them, they give us a real energy and to bring knockout rugby to everyone in Connacht is a huge thing for us as a club."
Tries from Josh Murphy, Joe Joyce, Bryon Ralston and Matthew Devine were enough to see off the hosts, who trailed by just two points with 14 minutes to play.
Wilkins (above) added: "[I’m] delighted to get the clean sweep of bonus points out of those four games is really significant for us.
"The consistency of the performances have been really important. We have been a bit up and down this season, and previous seasons as well.
"Whilst the URC form has fluctuated a little bit, for us to recognise the challenge and lean into it in each of these pool games, in terms of the types of teams and types of occasions [is a positive]
"For us to deliver in each one of those gives us a lot of confidence and I’m really proud of the boys."
Connacht, 13th in the URC, are away to Glasgow next weekend.
