Leinster have paid tribute to their first female head coach Tania Rosser who departs the role after a successful three-year stint.

The New Zealand-born former Ireland scrum-half was appointed to the role in December 2021.

In her first year at the helm, Leinster side came up short against the then-reigning champions Munster, but the side has since gone on to win back-to-back titles.

Rosser’s three-year term came to an end up in August after Leinster secured the Vodafone Interprovincial Women’s title in Belfast, with the province confirming the process to find a replacement will commence in the coming months.

Leinster Rugby CEO Shane Nolan acknowledged Rosser has made to both Leinster and women's rugby.

"My first impression was of a passionate and highly dedicated coach and that has only been enhanced over the last two years as I got to know her more and saw her deliver two interpro titles and wrestle control back from our rivals down south," he said.

Rosser represented Leinster as a player for 10 years before donning the green jersey in both 15s and Sevens.

She amassed 58 caps and featured in three Rugby World Cups during her time with Ireland, including the 2014 tournament where she earned her 50th cap with the memorable victory over her native New Zealand

Rosser was also a member of the 2015 Six Nations title-winning side.
