Former Derry, Donegal and Fermanagh manager Rory Gallagher has joined Kildare club Naas as a coach for the 2025 season.

Gallagher stepped back from his role as Oakleaf manager in May 2023 following serious allegations regarding his private life but was coaching in that time with Monaghan club Corduff.

Gallagher stated that any allegations against him had been investigated and no charges were brought.

He will work under manager Joe Murphy who has been manager for the last three seasons as the Kildare club completed a four in-a-row of county crowns.

Padraic Cribben, Kevin Martin, Martin Sweeney and Fionn Higgins are also set to be part of the 2025 management team.

The side have come up short in Leinster though and in November they lost their provincial quarter-final to eventual Leinster champions Cuala by a goal.

Last September, Gallagher, through his lawyer, released a statement stating he "fully intends to return to inter-county management in the near future" amid links to a Derry return.

That wouldn't materialise with Paddy Tally eventually replacing the outgoing Mickey Harte.
