Ireland's internationals and hopefuls on the Clovers and Wolfhounds sides began their Celtic Challenge campaigns with a win apiece.
The Wolfhounds beat the Clovers 33-7 in Energia Park in round one, while the reverse fixture three days after Christmas Day saw the Clovers take the spoils at the UCD Bowl, 31-10.
Ireland’s Linda Djougang, player of the match, Eve Higgins and Stacey Flood scored for the Wolfhounds in their win, with Amy Larn and Kelly Burke also grabbing tries.
Out-half Dannah O’Brien kicked four conversions for Neill Alcorn’s side, who had Erin King sin-binned in the first half.
However, Clovers had the upper hand in the second clash coming back from 10-0 behind with Ivana Kiripati, player of the match Beth Buttimer (2), Jane Neill and Hannah Clarke scoring tries, and Nicole Fowley landing three conversions.
Alma Atagamen and Vicky Elmes Kinlan scored for the Wolfhounds.
On Saturday, round three sees league leaders Gwalia Lightning of Wales facing fourth-place Clovers (11.30am), while Wolfhounds, in third, take on Glasgow Warriors (2.30pm).
Both games take place at Kingspan Stadium.
The expanded 2024/25 competition comprises a full league season of 10 rounds concluding in March.
The tournament features two teams from Ireland, with Munster and Connacht players combining to make up the Clovers, and Ulster and Leinster making up the Wolfhounds.
Edinburgh, Glasgow Warriors and Welsh outfits Gwalia Lightning and Brython Thunder also compete in the tournament, which was won by the Wolfhounds earlier this year.
