Celtic eased past Motherwell 4-0 to maintain their push to retain the William Hill Premiership as Rangers' winning run was ended by St Mirren.

Arne Engels opened the scoring for Celtic from the penalty spot in first-half added time before Daizen Maeda added a second in the 57th minute.

Nicolas Kuhn got in on the act with his sixth of the season and Reo Hatate sealed another dominant win.

Rangers’ four-game winning streak came to an end against St Mirren.

After Oisin Smyth scored the opener from a penalty but Danilo equalised just after the hour at Paisley 2021 Stadium.

However, Caolan Boyd-Munce’s strike in second-half stoppage time damaged the second-placed Gers’ title challenge.

Kilmarnock showed cutting edge in the final third to thump Aberdeen 4-0 at Rugby Park.

The hosts, who boasted four different scorers, went a goal up through Kyle Vassell and David Watson’s strike doubled their advantage in the 59th minute.

Innes Cameron and Bruce Anderson scored deep into the second half to seal the rout.

Dundee United came from a goal down to win 2-1 at bottom-of-the-table St Johnstone.

After Makenzie Kirk’s 44th-minute goal, the visitors fought back through Glen Middleton and Sam Dalby before Declan Gallagher was shown a red card in the final minutes.

Ross County handed Dundee their third straight loss with a 3-0 victory.

Noah Chilvers, Josh Nisbet and Jordan White confirmed three points on the road for County, who moved up to 10th.

Hibernian secured a third successive win by beating Edinburgh rivals Hearts 2-1.

After Kye Rowles’ own-goal gave them the advantage, another own-goal, this time from Hibs’ Rocky Bushiri, levelled the scores at the break.

Veteran striker Dwight Gayle snatched the winner in the 78th minute.
